Purely nature
cannot be found anywhere else in the Mediterranean
Sometime in the 80's a minister from Ankara had a good idea. The idea was a plan which divided the coast into touristic and non-touristic areas. And since the plan was good, the parliament agreed upon it.
After this plan the Gokova Gulf, southeast of Bodrum, the Hisarönü Gulf east of Datca, the Gulf of Fethiye west of the port city Fethiye and the district around Kekova are protected areas on it which it is not allowed to build on.
The remaining coast regions are freely given for touristic projects such as hotels, clubs as well as marinas. In particular, the Bodrum peninsula and the bay of Marmaris exploded in few years and it is being intensively thought about to stop damage and building any further.
Different than other Mediterranean countries such as Spain, Italy or Greece, where there were no such plans, has been the most beautiful part of the coast has been protected and since there is no road binding to the country side, the most beautiful coastal regions have been protected. Only with the boat, a yacht or chartered Gulet, can one drive into these protected areas and landscapes experience just as it existed for years.

It is the most unaffected, most varied and torn sea landscape, which I have known. A few years ago it was still well known as the "forgotten coast. Today it is discovered, is known as the last paradise on the edge on the Europe- just three hours away with a plane from the big cities.
Gulfs and bays cut deeply in the country, mountains rise 1,000 meters and more highly, Meltemi and Poyraz are reliable summer hoist, which make the heat bearable over the sea and ashore. They bring the sails to swelling and the sea to sparkling. Innumerable anchorages offer protection for the night, pine nut urge up to the water, thyme, laurel and oleander grow wildly and mix their smell with the noise of the cicadas and the call of the muezzin of slim Minaretts. Between them shady tea houses and ethnic taverns lead to the doing nothing and to rummage through the Bazare. Orient is everywhere, just as in 1,001- despite to all mobile phones and internet still very close .
